Wes Moynihan Like La Monte Young’s The Well-Tuned Piano or Robert Rich’s Somnium, this magnum opus is loaded with a challenge: can one listen to this almost 5 hour work in one sitting ? In fact I listened to all 4 movements with relative ease. I’m reminded of something Julian Cope once wrote about Tangerine Dream’s Zeit and it’s equally true of Bloodmoon Rising: “its remarkable unchanging unfolding near-static barely-shifting vegetable organic-ness takes over the room and permeates the whole house” Favorite track: Bloodmoon Rising Night 4.

mysticwolf75 Got the first edition 4 disc set when it was first released (#30, in fact), in 2015. I still remember setting up my patio lounge chair the night of 9/28/15, the 4th blood moon, and moon gazing with this playing in the background. Nice to have the digital copy now.

Incidentally, Night 2 was my first Bandcamp purchase ever. 🙂

Bloodmoon Rising: The Complete 5-Hour Collection is a tour-de-force of deep-ambient noir. These long-form ultra deep sound immersion zones were created for the four consecutive Blood Moon lunar eclipses which started in April of 2014, and will complete on September 28 2015. This collection holds the four 70-minute Bloodmoon Rising pieces, and is presented in a beautiful, 4-disc limited edition (1000) Eco-Wallet, each signed and numbered. All pieces have been carefully mastered for this CD release by Howard Givens of Spotted Peccary Studios. The final mastered versions are available here at Bandcamp, iTunes and as high resolution downloads from Spotted Peccary.
